Explore Our Rental Dirt Bikes

At California Motocross School, the right dirt bike is part of your training experience.

We do not simply hand every rider the same bike and expect them to adapt.

Our beginner dirt bike fleet has been selected to give riders of different ages, heights and experience levels the best possible platform to learn proper technique, build confidence and enjoy their Day in the Dirt.

From a Honda CRF50 for young first-time riders to larger Yamaha and Kawasaki four-stroke motorcycles for teenagers and adults, CMX can match riders with a bike that fits their size and ability.

The Right Bike Makes Learning Easier

Learning to ride is difficult enough without starting on the wrong motorcycle.

A bike that is too tall, too powerful or too heavy can make a new rider uncomfortable before the training even begins.

A motorcycle that is too small can make it difficult to learn proper body position and control.

That is why CMX considers:

  • Rider age

  • Height

  • Weight

  • Previous motorcycle experience

  • Confidence level

  • Coordination

  • Overall rider fit

Our instructors use that information to select the motorcycle that gives each student the best environment to learn.

Beginner Friendly Dirt Bikes

Our rental fleet is built around reliable four stroke motorcycles with smooth and predictable power delivery.

Depending on the rider, that may include an automatic clutch motorcycle for someone learning the fundamentals for the first time or a manual clutch motorcycle for a rider ready to learn full dirt bike controls.

The goal is progression.

Students can develop the skills they need without being overwhelmed by the aggressive power and handling of a competition Motocross bike before they are ready for it.

Our Day in the Dirt Experience

You do not need to own a dirt bike to experience Motocross.

Our Day in the Dirt program is designed to give new riders a complete introduction to dirt bike riding with professional instruction and a motorcycle matched to their size and experience.

Depending on the rider and the training plan, students can work on:

  • Throttle control

  • Braking

  • Balance

  • Standing position

  • Clutch control

  • Gear shifting

  • Cornering

  • Vision

  • Line selection

  • Acceleration technique

  • Basic Motocross fundamentals

For many riders, this is the best way to experience dirt bike riding before deciding whether they want to purchase their own motorcycle.

Try Before You Buy

Buying the wrong dirt bike is an expensive mistake.

A motorcycle may look right on paper but feel completely different once the rider is actually sitting on it and moving.

Training with CMX gives riders the opportunity to experience an appropriately sized motorcycle before making a purchasing decision.

For parents, this can be especially valuable when choosing a first dirt bike for a child.

For adult beginners, it gives you a much better understanding of what motorcycle size and type feels comfortable before moving into a larger or more powerful bike.

When booking, provide us with your age, height, weight and previous riding experience.

California Motocross School will match the motorcycle to the rider rather than expecting the rider to adapt to the wrong motorcycle.
