Day in the Dirt

Dirt Bike Rental and Training

California Motocross School’s Day in the Dirt is a complete introduction to dirt bike riding for adults and children. No previous experience is required.

You do not need to own a motorcycle or purchase expensive equipment before trying the sport. We provide the dirt bike, complete safety gear, access to our riding area and professional instruction from Australian Supercross racer Geran Stapleton and his team.

The program is also a valuable experience for street motorcycle riders. Riding in the dirt teaches balance, braking, throttle control and motorcycle handling in a controlled environment, helping riders become more confident and safer when they return to the road.

Everything You Need Is Included

Your Day in the Dirt experience includes:

  • A dirt bike selected for your height, age and experience level

  • Helmet and goggles

  • Chest protector

  • Riding jersey, pants and gloves

  • Motocross boots

  • Knee protection

  • Professional instruction

  • Access to our tracks and riding areas

What to Expect

When you arrive, our team will fit you with a complete set of protective riding gear and make sure everything is secure and comfortable.

You will then be introduced to the dirt bike selected for you. Geran will explain the motorcycle’s controls, including the throttle, brakes, clutch and gears, before teaching you the correct body position and basic techniques needed to ride safely.

The first part of the session focuses on the fundamentals of motorcycle control. You will practice starting, stopping, braking, accelerating, turning and shifting in a controlled training area. Each skill is introduced gradually so you can build confidence without feeling rushed.

Once you are comfortable with the basics, you will begin riding in a real off-road environment. Depending on the location and your experience level, this may include riding laps on one of our tracks or following Geran on a guided trail ride.

Most of the session is spent riding. Geran will continue coaching you throughout the experience, helping you improve your technique, correct mistakes and become more relaxed and capable on the motorcycle.

Day in the Dirt is designed to make your first experience with dirt bikes safe, approachable and exciting. California Motocross School provides everything. You simply arrive ready to ride.
