CMX was founded by professional racer Geran Stapleton, who has coached riders since 2009. He knows what it takes to race, and how much a clear explanation can help when you’re learning something for the first time.

Based in Murrieta, CMX makes learning to ride a dirt bike simple. Book a Day in the Dirt and we’ll provide the motorcycle, full riding gear and professional coaching.
Book your ride
You bring the enthusiasm. We bring the equipment.
Your dirt bike rental is included in the lesson. We’ll choose the bike, prepare it for the day and fit your riding gear. You can try riding without buying equipment or finding a way to transport a motorcycle.
Learn the skills you’ll use every time you ride.
We cover the controls, braking, balance, turning and body position. You’ll practice with guidance from your coach, building on what you know as you get more comfortable. Adults, children and complete beginners are welcome.
Where we meet.
Our business is based in Murrieta, but lessons take place at Fox Raceway in Pala, Glen Helen Raceway or a private location. We’ll confirm where to meet for your date. Call us before booking if you’d like to discuss the options.

Do I need previous riding experience?
No. We’ll explain the controls and help you practice starting, stopping and turning. Your coach will build on each skill as you get comfortable.
Are the bike and riding gear included?
Yes. We provide your dirt bike, helmet, goggles, jersey, riding pants, boots and protective equipment. We’ll choose a bike for you and fit your gear when you arrive.
Can I rent a bike without a lesson?
Our dirt bike rentals are included in coached sessions. We don’t offer bikes to take away and ride independently.
Where will we ride?
We use Fox Raceway in Pala, Glen Helen Raceway and private locations. The venue depends on the day and session. We’ll confirm your meeting point after booking; call us beforehand if you need a particular location.
Can I choose Fox Raceway or Glen Helen?
Call us before booking if you’d like to ride at a particular venue. We use both tracks as well as private locations, and the arrangements vary by date.
