What to bring, where to meet and what to expect from your Day in the Dirt.
Do I need previous riding experience?
No. We’ll explain the controls and help you practice starting, stopping and turning. Your coach will build on each skill as you get comfortable.
Are the bike and riding gear included?
Yes. We provide your dirt bike, helmet, goggles, jersey, riding pants, boots and protective equipment. We’ll choose a bike for you and fit your gear when you arrive.
How much does Day in the Dirt cost?
$495 per person, paid when you book. That includes the bike, full riding gear, professional coaching and riding-area access.
How long is the session?
Allow three hours from start to finish. That includes getting fitted, preparing the equipment and riding with your coach.
How old does my child need to be?
Children can start from age five. We choose their bike and equipment based on their age and size. Call us if you’d like to talk about whether they’re ready.
Is this for adults too?
Absolutely. Whether you’ve never sat on a motorcycle or want to get comfortable riding off-road, we’ll help you get started.
Can we ride together?
Yes. You can book up to eight people, with equipment selected for each person. You may share the session with other customers depending on the day.
Where will we ride?
We use Fox Raceway in Pala, Glen Helen Raceway and private locations. The venue depends on the day and session. We’ll confirm your meeting point after booking; call us beforehand if you need a particular location.
When can I book?
Sessions are offered seven days a week, usually starting at 9:00 AM California time. Please book at least 24 hours ahead. You’ll choose a requested date, and we’ll confirm the arrangements with you.
Which bike will I ride?
We’ll choose a bike for your age, height and needs. Our fleet includes the Honda CRF50, Yamaha TTR110, Yamaha TTR125, Kawasaki KLX140 and Yamaha TTR230.
What if I don’t know my sizes?
Choose “I don’t know” for any sizing question. We’ll help with the fit when you arrive and get in touch beforehand if we need more information. Please include each rider’s age when booking.
What happens if the weather is bad?
If the weather makes riding unsafe or impossible, we’ll reschedule your session.
Are bookings refundable?
Bookings are non-refundable.
Where is CMX based?
We’re based in Murrieta, near Temecula, and welcome customers from San Diego County, Orange County, Los Angeles and across Riverside County. Lessons take place at the venue confirmed for your session.
Can I choose Fox Raceway or Glen Helen?
Call us before booking if you’d like to ride at a particular venue. We use both tracks as well as private locations, and the arrangements vary by date.
What will I learn?
You’ll practice starting, stopping, throttle control, braking, balance, turning and riding position. We’ll also cover clutch use and shifting where relevant to your bike. Tell your coach about any experience you already have and what you’d like to work on.
Can I rent a bike without a lesson?
Our dirt bike rentals are included in coached sessions. We don’t offer bikes to take away and ride independently.
Can I learn motocross as a beginner?
Yes. We start with the skills you’ll need on the dirt: controlling the throttle, braking, turning and positioning yourself on the bike. If you have a particular training goal, talk to us about it before booking.
